1745 Victory in Prestonpans will never be wildered!

2020 is going to be a truly significant year for The Prince and his champions in Prestonpans: WATCH THIS SPACE!

This is the 300th anniversary of The Prince's birth, the 275th of his Victory in Prestonpans and the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Prestonpans Tapestry.

That long ago Victory and, yes, now our humble creation of the Prestonpans Tapestry, have each occasioned an extraordinary cultural legacy. Both those legacies will come together over the coming year as the Trust campaigns to create and resource their worthy Living History Centre.

Each of the 'new' activities during 2020 will be enshrined into the Trust's already extensive repertoire and asset base. When the Centre is finally born these, together with those already accumulated since 2006, can and will be shared with our own community and nationwide.

The battle fought on September 21st 1745, alongside the 1722 Waggonway which traverses the battlefield itself, are assets absolutely unique to our community. It is our inescapable responsibility to this and future generations to tell their stories out loud and engage ever wider audiences in their meanings and significance.

They must never, and will never, be wildered!
