Captain Burnet's Challenge won again by Centinel Richard Ell

Challenge to scale Arthur's seat for the Edinburgh City Guard

Congratulations to Richard Ell, Centinel of the City Guard, who won This year's [2015] Captain Burnet's Challenge - despite strong competition from Douglas Eckhart [left].

Centinel Ell [centre] takes the laurels for the second time, having won the inaugural Challenge in 2013. It's a biennial event for the Guard, and this time Richard [an occasional Marathon runner!] made the ascent in 10 minutes flat.

The full story and video from 2013 can be remembered linked HERE

Centinel Ell will receive the customary Charles I 30/- shillings at this year's Regimental Supper on November 28th.

The Edinburgh City Guard is the redcoat company of the Alan Breck Regiment, which hosts the annual 1745 re-enactments in Prestonpans and offers its services far and wide.
