GIANT BATTLE TAPESTRY EXHIBITION COMING TO CORBY
An exhibition of the 104-metre Battle of Prestonpans Tapestry in Corby?s Grampian Club in November will signal a partnership with Corby in an ambitious new tapestry project.

Before the exhibition the team behind the Battle Tapestry want to make contact with local historians and embroiderers around Cory for a new project based on the Scottish Diaspora. There are special local workshops planned for 2 and 3 October where anyone interested in taking part can meet the organisers in person.

BATTLE TAPESTRY TO BE DISPLAYED IN BAYEUX
The Battle of Prestonpans Tapestry is to be exhibited alongside the world-famous Bayeux Tapestry in Normandy in the autumn of 2013.

The announcement came during a visit today (8 August) by the Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs, Fiona Hyslop to St Mary?s Cathedral in Edinburgh where the massive 104-metre Battle Tapestry is currently on display.

BATTLE TAPESTRY MAKES ITS INTERNATIONAL DEBUT
In its first appearance on foreign soil the Battle of Prestonpans Tapestry went on show in Pornichet, in the Brittany region of France, this weekend (29 April) where 1000 local visitors braved fierce winds to see it.

CULTURE MINISTER'S PRESTONPANS VISIT CANCELLED DUE TO COUNCIL DELAYS
A visit to Prestonpans next week by Culture Minister Fiona Hyslop has been cancelled because of a lack of support from East Lothian Council.

The visit, to be hosted by the Battle of Prestonpans Heritage Trust, was scheduled for 18 April. It was to include a tour of the Prestongrange Museum where the Battle Trust wants to see the creation of a Heritage Park, to include a centre to interpret the battle and house the hugely popular Battle of Prestonpans Tapestry.

JACOBITES VICTORIOUS AGAIN IN PRESTONPANS
The fifth annual re-enactments of the Battle of Prestonpans at Cuthill Park at the week-end were a huge success and blessed with wonderful weather.

Over 1000 people attended over the two days of commemorations at the park. They visited the living history encampment and enjoyed the full programme of demonstrations and skirmishes. The main re-enactments were as dramatic and action-packed as ever ? with three cannons and volleys of musket fire.
