Oh Canada - Tapestry on the way: Who can help?

We're looking for Friends on the Ground in Canada and Volunteers from Scotland to Travel there ...

Calling Volunteers and Contacts in Canada ....

The Battle Tapestry plans to embark after a grand flourish in Scotland late June to arrive at the Royal Halifax Tattoo in Nova Scotia on July 1st/ 8th 2012. From there it will cross Quebec then Ontario and on to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia [formerly New Caledonia of course!]

It will reach Chemainus for the Global Murals Congress there on September 10th/15th.

Then it's off to Los Angeles and New York, [and perhaps more] before returning to Scotland by the end of the year.

Draft Schedule looks like this but it's still very emergent!

Steven Lord will be in charge of the tour in the Martimes/ Quebec and Ontario throughout July. Montreal, Guelph, Toronto and Saut Ste Marie are all in our sights.

Then it's on to Winnipeg at the start of August, across Saskatchewan to Alberta's Edmonton, Calgary, Kenmore and Banff.

By early September it will have crossed the Rockies through Hope to Vancouver's Simon Fraser University, Victoria and Chemainus.

Arran Johnston will be in charge for the US exhibitions.

Volunteers are needed to ...

[i] provide contacts in Canada who might be able to help out at the venues and in certain cases help find the venues themselves;

[ii] take command of exhibitions in certain selected venues, and to assist Steven Lord and Arran Johnston in their dedicated sectors.

As a charity the Battle Trust obviously does not have substantial resources to support volunteers but less than luxurious travel and accommodation assistance will be available if that is necessary.

LET'S HAVE LOTS OF GREAT IDEAS AND ASSISTANCE ... please contact Gordon Prestoungrange or Arran Johnston @ email addresses linked below
