This is the 11th National [Canadian] Mural Symposium organised by Mural Routes and will run from Friday November 7 - Sunday November 9, 2008 at the Madison Manor Boutique Hotel, Toronto, Ontario.

Keynote address (in partnership with the Community Arts Practice program at Toronto's York University):

M’Bala ‑ artist, poet and musician in Kingston, Jamaica with the Area Youth Foundation. M’Bala has worked with inner city youth creating murals that help reduce division and violence in their community.

Symposium sessions will include:

History of mural art
Project: Urban Canvas (Amnesty International)
Professional and business practices
Off the wall: alternate supports and surfaces
Mural maintenance and conservation
Creating mural art with children
