Battle Re-enactment Programme All Now Set for September 17th/ 20th

Final Arrangments now in place for September 2008

Confirmation is through that the 77th Montgomeries will be with us again this year, to our universal delight. It's a long way form the Czech Republic to Prestonpans, but as their leaders observe: "It's the only regular authentic annual Jacobite re-enactment event, and supporting the Trust's campaign for 2011 is well worth the 1000 mile journey!" The Czech's will be encamped at Bankton House from Wednesday to Sunday again - our thanks to the Residents' Association there once more.

The East Lothian Courier has also ensured a widespread awareness of the progaramme of events. The programme card for downloading is linked HERE

REDCOAT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Whilst we all realise being a redcoat in The Pans between September 17th and 20th this September is a risky affair, some 13 [unlucky?] uniforms are seeking volunteers to join the re-enactments. All enquiries please to Carol Black at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg Ph 01875 819922 or call at The James Fewell Bar. There are compensations to be had of course even for redcoats ....

Brian Cox, Trust Patron, lends his support also as reported in East Lothian News and Edinburgh Evening News
