Fowler's Ales

Fowler's Ales, famous since the '45 Jacobite Rising and Bonnie Prince Charlie's victory over the English on the outskirts of Prestonpans, are honoured at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg.

John Fowler and Company's brewery closed in 1962 but now a micro brewery on site enables real ales to be created once more in Prestonpans, under the leadership of Iain Turnbull.

The full story of those original Fowler's Ales is told in Anderson's excellent Prestoungrange Historical Services Booklet No. 12, price £6, or click on the link below.

You'll be delighted with what they have created, and if your are keen to taste 'real ales' then a visit to view their micro brewery and the James Fewell Bar is an absolute "must!".
