The Historical Society

The Historical Society in Prestonpans was established in 1985 on the initiative of Tom Wilson following that years most successful History Week. It was in full swing in 1996 for the 250th Anniversary Celebration of the Battle of Prestonpans. It holds regular meetings, has published vitally important collections of memories and is building its own archive of local documentation. It's most successful publication is Tales of the Pans now in its 2nd edition (hard copy) or on this website.

It works in the town in collabaration with many other interest groups.
