Calling All Stitchers ... Your Cloth Bound Volume is now ready for collection ....

The Wait is Over ... Sincere apologies for the Delay!

Each Stitcher's promised complimentary copy of the cloth bound volume of The Prestonpans Tapestry is now available for collection.

Our proposal is that as many Stitchers as possible should visit the magnificent Tapestry Exhibition at Prestonpans Community Centre which takes place during the re-enactments.

That means at Prestonpans Community Centre on September 24th/ 25th/ 26th between 11am and 4pm each day

Not only will those times see your entire tapestry on display but it will also if you wish be the opportunity to purchase additional copies [not for resale howsoever] of the paperback book at £10 [RRP £20] or the cloth bound book for £20 [RRP £30].

And more than that, the new CD of the 'Tapestry Music' - appropriate traditional Scottish music recorded for us by Greentrax, is available too at £12 each.

Finally, the DVD of How the Tapestry was Stitched & Celebrated - which Eric Robinson is producing for us will be showing in rough cut and if you'd like to order a copy of that, you can do so then and there.

Stitching Demonstrations and Explanations

As many will know, whilst the Tapestry has toured the Highlands some 5000 visitors have been to see it and it has had a magnificent, well appreciated reception everywhere it has been. The venues have scarcely been 'ideal' to do artistic justice to your tapestry but the very fact we have taken it to those who stitched it across the nation has been most greatly appreciated. That was our purpose and it is good to report that such purpose has been fulfilled - last stops Dunblane Cathedral Monday night September 13th, Gullane Village Hall September 16th, and Duddingston Kirk Hall September 19th!

The national tour has been masterminded and delivered from his decal-ed 'white' van by Arran Johnston [aka Bonnie Prince Charlie], his fiancee Fiona Campbell and most recently with help from Andrew Allcorn. We all owe them a huge debt of gratitude - expressions of which they have already received aplenty as they followed in the Prince's footsteps towards Edinburgh and Prestonpans.

In Prestonpans on September 24th/ 25th/ 26th Andrew Crummy is leading a team of stitchers to present the exhibition. Arran Johston is away with the re-enactments. Any who can assist Andrew over the three days please be in touch directly with him.

P.S. For those unable to get to The Pans during September 24th/ 25th/ 26th personal arrangments can be made with Gillian Hart [01875 819922] to collect copy[ies] from The Prestoungrange Gothenburg after those dates - not Mondays and during opening hours 12 noon - 2pm or 5-11 pm; or for Gillian to post your copy[s] if you let her have the relevant postage and packaging costs at £7 per copy. Sorry about that!
