Calling 'All' Scottish Schools ... history & embroidery challenge

NEW SCHOOLS' COMPETITION FOR 2016-17!

Design Your Own Panel!

In 2016-17 the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry team is offering Scottish schools an exciting opportunity to get involved, working in partnership with EducationScotland.

We are inviting schools across the country to take part in a nationwide competition: all you have to do is plan, design and stitch your own diaspora story!

The finished panels will be exhibited beside the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry itself, when it returns to Scotland from its world tour in 2017.

This exciting competition is open to both primary and secondary schools, and is designed to help pupils explore their community’s global links as well as their own creativity. It also offers a wealth of interdisciplinary learning experiences, with lots of potential outcomes relevant to the current curriculum.

Not only that, but all participating schools will be able to keep their tapestry panels after the end of their celebratory exhibition in Edinburgh – a permanent testament to their achievement.

The Scottish Diaspora Tapestry Schools Competition will run from September 2016 until Easter 2017
