This is advanced notice of a forthcoming event for the Battle of Prestonpans [1745] Heritage Trust. Attendance is by formal Invitation but all interested are invited to contact the Trust if they would wish to receive such an Invitation.

The 230th anniversary of the death of Prince Charles Edward Stuart occurs on 31st January 2018.

In response to the request from the Battle of Prestonpans (1745) Heritage Trust, Archbishop Leo Cushley of St Andrews & Edinburgh has kindly agreed to be the Celebrant at a private Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of The Prince, to mark this anniversary. It is to be held at St Margaret's Chapel, Archdiocesan Offices, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh EH9 1BB, and will commence at 6pm. It will be followed by the provision of light refreshments in the Centre.

As far as the Trust knows, this will be the first Requiem Mass celebrated in Scotland for The Prince in many years.

Please let Trust's Joint Chairman Herbert Coutts @ coutts826@btinternet.com know if you would like to attend it. Although numbers are necessarily limited the Trust wishes to make the opportunity to attend as widely available as possible.
