THE PENNYPIT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST Pat O'Brien

The opening of the new and upgraded facilities at Pennypit Park was a proud day for the people of Prestonpans. This superb sports ground is undoubtedly an asset to our community, improving the quality of life and leisure, and opening up sport to people of all ages and interests.
There are full-time staff employed to encourage even greater use of these facilities: coaching has been introduced to involve a wider range of sporting activities.
Pennypit represents the future for community sports developments and I hope that it will encourage more young people to take an interest in sport, as well as groups who traditionally might feel sport is not for them.
I am particularly pleased that special facilities for our disabled citizens have been introduced and I feel that Pennyypit Park is fulfilling our hopes for leisure and sport facilities for all.
