Great Pans Sports Personalities: Nominations Invited from Every Sport for a New Mural

Search is on ... everyone invited to nominate great sports personalities from the Pans to be honoured & commemorated ....

The 57th Mural on The Pans Murals Trail is to be painted by Tom Ewing, with funds provided under the town's Gothenburg Principles. Pennypit is the proposed location. Sincere thanks go to all who have been patronising The Prestoungrange Gothenburg of late! Keep it up please .... It follows hot on the tail of the 'Gothenburg Principles' Labour Club Mural by Michael Jessing unveiled last week.

Everyone is invited to nominate their own Sporting Greats for commemoration. A panel chaired by Willie Innes, who first proposed the idea at Prestonpans Community Council 18 months ago, will make the final decision for pictorial inclusion; and where space does not allow a Roll of Honour will accommodate all other selected names. Nominations can be sent by email to Tom Ewing @ tomewing@live.co.uk

Matching funds for the artwork will be sought so that an illustrated booklet can be published alongside the mural telling the full story of each sporting achievement. The entire project promises to be a great educational and motivational artwork that, as with the previous 56 murals, will be long cherished hereabouts.
